Cost composition and current situation of automotive wiring harnesses
There are a total of four processes for the processing and production of automotive wiring harnesses, namely wire cutting, crimping, pre assembly, and final assembly. At present, only the opening and crimping parts have a high degree of automation. Due to the large and miscellaneous materials of wire harnesses and the inability to locate them, the assembly and testing parts still rely on a large amount of manual labor. Although automotive wire harness enterprises have made significant progress in automation in recent years, automotive wire harness processing is still a labor-intensive industry, with about 70% of the production process being manual, and labor costs accounting for a high proportion of the total cost of automotive wire harnesses.
